Critically-acclaimed first-person exploration game Firewatch is coming to Xbox One this month, says developer Campo Santo.

The game will ship with an Audio Tour, which Campo Santo describes as "one part scavenger hunt, one part museum tour, one part game dev workshop, mixed with a dash of inside Campo Santo goofs."

Additionally, its story mode will be complemented by a new free-roam option, lit by a full day-night cycle and allowing full exploration of the game map, as well as "a few hidden secrets."

Owners of Firewatch on other platforms will receive the new features via a free update.

Initially launching on PlayStation 4 and PC, Firewatch received positive reviews, with Gameplanet's Andrew Todd (i.e. me) rating it 9.5/10.

Developed by veterans of BioShock, The Walking Dead, Brutal Legend, and Mark of the Ninja, it concerns the events that befall a Wyoming fire watchman over a particularly unusual summer.

Firewatch launches for Xbox One on September 21st; though the game is a digital-only release for now, Paul A. Lavallee's unrelated small-town novel of the same title is available from Mighty Ape.
