Microsoft has detailed the DLC plan for Rise of the Tomb Raider, which includes an array of microtransactions.

According to the Xbox Store listing for the timed Xbox exclusive, the game will receive three major DLC packs, plus a "steady stream" of new gear and the game's so-called Expedition Cards.

The main DLC releases are an "extreme" Endurance survival mode; new tomb Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch; and Cold Darkness Awakened, a horde mode featuring infected predators.

Expedition Cards are modifiers used in non-campaign game modes, either changing game mechanics, granting perks, or offering aesthetic changes like Big Head mode.

Cards are available in Foil or Common varieties; packs can be purchased with credits - earned by completing in-game challenges - or with real money.

300 Expedition Cards will be available at launch, with more emerging over the subsequent months.

Rise of the Tomb Raider launches November 10 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
