Details regarding the first downloadable content pack for Black Rock’s upcoming arcade racer Split/Second: Velocity have surfaced.
Called the Hyper Car Pack, the DLC includes three vehicles that are both “among the most powerful in the game” and offer an “instant advantage.”
That wording has landed Black Rock in a bit of hot water with gamers concerned that such advantages could be unfair. Black Rock’s Nick Baynes sought to clarify.
Speaking with Eurogamer, Baynes said, “Maybe the wording could have been better, but while it does mean that you'll be getting fast, powerful cars, they're not so powerful that the other cars in the game aren't competitive with them.
“Obviously in a racing game there are cars of varying abilities, and of course these aren't at the lower end of the scale, but no-one will be going online and getting an unfair advantage over people who've played the game without buying the content.”
Split/Second: Velocity is due for release on the 21st of May on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
