Ubisoft have announced today that Assassin’s Creed II is selling 32% faster than its predecessor and estimates that it has been purchased by 1.6 million people worldwide.

The original Assassin’s Creed was the fastest selling new intellectual property in US gaming history.

Assassin’s Creed II is set during the Renaissance in Italy and tells the story of Ezio Auditore, a young Florentine who discovers his Assassin heritage and sets his blade to work dispatching a conclave of Templar conspirators who’ve killed his family.
