Ubisoft announced today that Hollywood actress Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Veronica Mars, Heroes) will reprise her role as Lucy Stillman in Assassin's Creed II. The character will once again play a major role in the game's intricate storyline. Bell won "Hottest Newcomer" at the Spike Video Game Awards for her role in the first Assassin's Creed.

Patrice Desilets, the game's creative director, described Kristen Bell as a talented actress and said she "brought the depth and emotion necessary for the mysterious role of Lucy for the first Assassin's Creed video game. She breathed life into her character in a way that deepened the gaming experience," said Desilets. "She did such a fantastic job for this character that, for me, Kristen Bell is Lucy Stillman and no one else can play that role.”

Kristen Bell said it was "an amazing experience" being part of the first Assassin's Creed game. "Video games are such a creative entertainment medium, and to be able to see and play myself as a video game character was surreal,” said Bell. "As an actress, it's both challenging and rewarding to play a complex character with this great mysterious background. I'm very happy to be Lucy once more, and I look forward to fans discovering more about her - they will be pleasantly surprised.”

Assassin's Creed II will be released 20 November on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The PC version has been delayed to the first quarter of 2010.
