Lindsay Lohan's lawsuit against Grand Theft Auto V developer Rockstar Games is simply a bid for attention, say the company's lawyers.

Lohan claimed Rockstar used her likeness for a character in the game without her permission.

Lohan's lawsuit claimed that the Jonas character is an "unequivocal" reference to the Mean Girls actress.

However, Rockstar's lawyers stated that Lohan's lawsuit has no merit, and that she “filed for publicity purposes”, reports the Associated Press.

Rockstar's lawyers want the case dismissed, and want Lohan to pay their legal fees.

In Grand Theft Auto V, players can undertake two side-missions revolving around a young starlette named Lacey Jonas.

The first is a side-mission in which the player is asked to escort Jonas away from the paparazzi.

In the second, the player breaks into a replica of the West Hollywood hotel where Lohan once lived, Chateau Marmont, to secretly film Jonas having sex.
