Bayonetta's Wii U-exclusive sequel is out now in Japan, but selling very poorly.

Bayonetta 2 for Wii U has sold just 28,825 copies in its first week, reports Dengeki Online.

By comparison, the original Bayonetta was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and sold more than 200,000 copies in its first week.

Sales last week were led by Super Smash Bros for 3DS, which sold 321,363 copies over the same period.

Bayonetta 2 for Wii U will be released locally on October 25.
