Nintendo has given some details on how Bayonetta 2's multiplayer mode will function.

As reported by Siliconera, the game’s co-op mode, called “Tag Climax”, can be played with a friend, a stranger, or an AI partner, and is a wave survival mode that also features boss battles.

At the start of each round, players will be able to bet Halos (the game’s currency) on who will end the round with the most points.

Halos may then be used to unlock new moves, weapons, and cosmetic items, and the harder the difficulty setting, the more Halos players get.

Last year, Bayonetta 2 producer JP Kellams expressed his frustration with rude requests for the Wii U exclusive to be ported to other systems.

“I don’t think it is cool to post ‘fack shit its not on ps T_T’ on cosplay pictures,” he wrote, calling the practice "pedantic port begging".

Bayonetta 2 is expected to launch on Wii U in October.
