Sony Computer Entertainment's first-party studios have "no titles in development" for the PS Vita, according to SCE senior VP Masayasu Ito.
In an interview with 4Gamer (translated by DualShockers), Ito revealed that the company is leaving Vita development to third parties.
Sony itself will focus on developing games for the PS4.
The Vita has struggled to catch on significantly in a handheld environment ruled by the Nintendo 3DS and, increasingly, mobile phones.
But while it still has yet to achieve notable success in the West, the Japanese market has kept the platform alive.
Ito also stated that Minecraft: PS Vita Edition has given the Vita "a boost."
Upcoming titles announced for the Vita include Mighty No. 9, World of Final Fantasy, Lego's Marvel Avengers, and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
