To say I'm excited for Borderlands 3 would be a massive understatement. Like many of you, I've been a fan since the moment I entered the chaotic and crazy world of Pandora, so I couldn't be happier to confirm that Borderlands 3 is more of that same sweet, sweet magic that captured our hearts and trigger fingers a decade ago.

During a worldwide reveal event, Gearbox unveiled a massive chunk of gameplay and new details about the highly anticipated upcoming looter-shooter.

Gearbox has been paying very close attention to some of their contemporaries, and it shows. Movement is more fluid than ever before, with players now having the ability to climb up ledges. On top of this, players will also be able to perform the FPS-staple sprint slide.

Those who played the original with friends will likely remember many an argument about who gets the loot. Thankfully Gearbox is introducing instanced loot, so players won't have to fight over who gets what shiny new gun. This option can be turned off for those wanting an experience closer to the original game.

Perhaps one of the most impactful changes is the new skill tree. Instead of having one unique ability that acts as the foundation for your others skills to be stacked on, Borderlands 3's vault hunters have three different abilities each to build upon, along with one unique trait. This should lead to much more variety, and experimentation in player builds.

There's a bunch of impressive details unpack in the gameplay stream, including awesome new weapons (duh), alt-fire modes and destructible cover, so I'll stop talking now. Do yourself a favour and watch the gameplay below. If you're a longtime fan of the series, you won't be disappointed.

Borderlands 3 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 13.
