Sony has clarified statements made by SCEE president Jim Ryan this week that cast doubt on the release of Driveclub's free-to-play PlayStation Plus edition.
In an interview with Metro, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president Jim Ryan was evasive when asked if the PlayStation Plus edition of Driveclub would ever be released.
Today however, Sony clarified that work on the PlayStation Plus edition is progressing as planned.
“We are continually working on improving the server capacity to enable us to launch the PS Plus Edition as quickly as possible,” a Sony spokesperson told Eurogamer.
“Although currently we do not have an update regarding the timing for the launch.”
The spokesperson's statements are in line with those made by developer Evolution Studios earlier this month.
"We’re getting there, but there’s still a lot of server development needed to support the PS+ Edition," said Evolution on Twitter.
