Soccer may not be our national sport, but when it comes to sporting videogames it appears that EA's FIFA series suffers no rivals.
Not only did FIFA 15 debut at number one on NPD Group's New Zealand retail charts, but EA has today announced that sales in Australia and New Zealand are up 62.75 percent over last year's FIFA 14.
An EA spokesperson told MCVPacific that the game's success was due to the series' "player-first approach".
No doubt FIFA 15's sales also benefited from the nation's quadrennial spike in interest in soccer around the FIFA World Cup, which was held in Brazil over June and July.
FIFA 15 is out now on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, PS Vita, Wii, and 3DS.
