Sony Computer Entertainment has announced the PlayStation 4 DualShock 4 and PlayStation 4 eye to coincide with the announcement of the PlayStation 4, due holiday 2013.

In addition to a new, more sensitive six-axis controller, the DualShock 4 includes a touchpad on the front of the controller that Sony says will offer new ways to play and interact with games.

Much like the Move controller, the DualShock 4 comes with a light bar with three colour LEDs that will change colour to denote the player. The bar can also change patterns during gameplay to provide information to players, for example, when a character is low on health.

The DualShock 4 also comes with a built-in speaker and stereo headset jack. The PlayStation 4 will come bundled with a mono headset, meaning players will be able to chat with online friends while the controller will provide in-game sound effects.

Perhaps the most interesting new feature is the Share button. This allows players to broadcast gameplay in real-time to friends over internet streaming services such as Ustream. Players can also upload video gameplay to Facebook.

The PlayStation 4 Eye, incorporates two high-sensitive cameras that have wide-angle lenses with 85-degree diagonal angle views which can recognise the depth of space precisely, says Sony. This enables PlayStation 4 Eye to cut out the image of player from background, and better understand the player's position, enabling different modes of play, says Sony. The PlayStation 4 Eye also has four microphones that will add voice functionality to the PlayStation 4. Finally, Players will be able to log in to their PlayStation 4 using facial recognition software.

PlayStation Move will also be supported.
