EA’s CFO Eric Brown has announced that NBA Elite 11 has been cancelled.
Brown broke the news in EA’s Q2 financial call to investors. The game was in development at EA Canada. The license will be passed on to Madden developer EA Tiburon.
“Future development of Elite will be handled at EA Tiburon,” said COO John Schappert.
NBA Elite 11 was delayed after quality concerns we raised during its demo. At that time EA Sports president Peter Moore said, “NBA Elite had the benefit of play-testing, a demo and a lot of our own research. All that feedback revealed some concerns about gameplay polish, so we've listened to your feedback, and made a judgment that the game would benefit from more time in development.”
