Red Dead Redemption Downloadable content pack Undead Nightmare will be available on the 26th of October, just in time for Halloween.

Rockstar has also released more details regarding the DLC. Undead Nightmare will feature four types of zombie, “each possessing unique characteristics, attacks, and defences.”

“Mythical creatures” also roam the frontier alongside zombie bears, cougars, wolves and more.

Focusing particularly on singleplayer content, Undead Nightmare sees John Marston searching for a cure to a zombie plague that has swept the Old West, seemingly overnight. Undead Nightmare will include new challenges, quests and ambient events.

The multiplayer free roam mode will also receive new content called “Undead Overrun,” a survival mode in which players must band together to fend off increasingly strong waves of zombies.

The DLC also introduces a new weapon, the blunderbuss.

Undead Nightmare will cost 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE and should cost approximately NZD $20 on the PlayStation Network.

Finally, Rockstar has announced that they will be bundling all Red Dead Redemption downloadable content to date onto a single disc for retail release.

They write, “Also coming soon, Undead Nightmare, a single, stand-alone disc that bundles together for the first time ever, the Undead Nightmare Pack, the Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack, the Legends and Killers Pack, the Liars and Cheats Pack and all the Multiplayer Free Roam modes released to date. Undead Nightmare will be available at retail stores everywhere for [approximately NZD $40] and does not require a copy of Red Dead Redemption to play.”
