New Zealand’s first BarCraft, a community event where gamers watch professional StarCraft II matches and share a drink or two at a bar, will begin tomorrow at 11am.

This BarCraft will be held at The Corporate Box, Level 5, 92 Albert Street, Auckland CBD, from 11am to 7pm. BarCraft will be streaming the Major League Gaming Winter Event. There will be two happy hours, at 11am and 12pm.

The MLG StarCraft II Winter Event has a total prize pool of $30,000. It is composed of 32 players in double elimination and the loser chooses the map. Professionals such as Leenock, Nestea, Naniwa, MC and Idra will all be competing.

BarCraft New Zealand will also be running StarCraft for Starship. Attendees will be able to make a gold coin donation at the door, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Starship Foundation, the charitable organisation that supports Auckland’s Starship hospital for children.

Additionally, there’ll be 100 cupcakes to support the charity drive. These can be bought for $3 to $5. Each comes with a raffle ticket to win Razer StarCraft II gaming peripherals, and $100 TelstraClear vouchers.

BarCraft New Zealand’s MLG Winter Event is restricted to people aged 18 and over. Those interested in attending should visit the event’s Facebook page.
