BarCraft, a community-driven international phenomenon that marries watching professional StarCraft II players compete against one another with having a few beers alongside fellow fans, is coming to New Zealand.

New Zealand’s first BarCraft event will be held in Auckland on Saturday the 25th of February from 11.30am to 6.30pm. Spectators will watch the Major League Gaming Winter event, wherein 32 of the world’s best players will compete for a prize pool of $30,000.

The location for New Zealand’s first BarCraft will be announced tomorrow but will be held somewhere in Auckland’s CBD. Naturally, the event is R18.

Event organiser Byron McLean suggests that those interested in attending RSVP on BarCraftNZ’s Facebook page.
