Battlefield 1 appears to have reversed the fortunes of the Battlefield franchise, debuting to strong reviews and stronger sales.
In its first week of release, the World War One shooter outsold Battlefield 4 and Hardline's launch week sales combined, according to UK physical sales numbers from Chart-Track.
Those sales come despite the game being the first of the series' recent instalments not to support legacy consoles.
Predecessor Battlefield 4's launch was hampered by serious connectivity problems and bugs, even spawning class action suits against publisher Electronic Arts; while Hardline largely lacked such issues, it still saw the series' worst-ever reviews.
According to bfstats.com, the new title has hit peaks of over 800,000 concurrent players across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
Battlefield 1 is now available for new-gen consoles and PC.
