Blizzard is flipping the script on Overwatch players fond of deploying the "gg ez" chat line at the end of matches.
The studio has gone live with a handy little filter macro in chat that turns the mocking phrase (which means 'good game, easy') back on the sender, making them the subject of ridicule.
From now on, those that type the phrase in chat will find it replaced by one of the following:
◆ I feel very, very small... please hold me...
◆ It's past my bedtime. Please don't tell my mommy.
◆ I'm wrestling with some insecurity issues in my life but thank you for playing with me.
◆ I'm trying to be a nicer person. It's hard, but I'm trying, guys.
◆ Mommy says people my age shouldn't suck their thumbs
◆ I could really use a hug right now
◆ C'mon, Mom! One more game before you tuck me in. Oops mistell.
Other less mocking responses include "Ah shucks... you guys are the best!" and "It was an honour to play with you all. Thank you."
It appears the message only triggers in the game's general chat, as a "gg ez" in party chat currently goes unfiltered. So those that desperately need to mock the other team can still do so among their teammates.
