The Division will receive two free updates and three paid expansions in its first year, Ubisoft has announced.
New challenges will also be added to the game’s main storyline and end-game via daily and weekly missions, as well as Dark Zone events.
The first free update in April will introduce the first raid (“incursion”), an end-game activity developed specifically for squad play.
This update will also add loot trading, allowing players in the same group to trade loot collected during a co-op game session.
In May, a second free update will add new features to the Dark Zone PvP area, as well as a new raid in New York’s iconic Columbus Circle.
The three paid expansions will be available via the game’s Season Pass, as well as its Gold and Collector’s Editions.
The first, Underground, releases in June, and lets players explore the uncharted underworld of New York City.
The second, Survival, will release in winter, and according to Ubisoft will challenge players to survive as long as possible by gathering essential supplies in a very hostile environment.
The third, Last Stand, releases next summer, and pits players against a new threat and “a relentless foe”.
The Division is out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on March 8.
