Players who purchased Wolfenstein: The New Order prior to May 26, 2014 can now sign up for the Doom closed alpha.

The closed alpha is distinct from the beta, which is offered to The New Order pre-orderers only, and is "designed to stress test the game’s dedicated server infrastructure in a real-world consumer environment."

It will feature one map - Heatwave - which encourages varying playstyles with narrow corridors and open areas alike.

The only mode available will be 6v6 team deathmatch.

Teams will fight over the Demon Rune powerup and the Gauss Cannon power weapon, which "can turn the tide or ensure victory."

Otherwise, the alpha features six weapons from the Super Shotgun to the Vortex Rifle, plus the Personal Teleporter and Frag Grenade.

Doom launches in 2016 for new-gen consoles and PC.
