The third season of Telltale’s take on The Walking Dead won’t begin this year, the developer has confirmed.

Telltale’s Job Stauffer delivered the news via Twitter, but also mentioned that something "big" related to The Walking Dead would still be released this year.

That something is likely another standalone episode like 2013’s 400 Days, which fell between Season One and Season Two. Telltale has already said as much, in fact.

Telltale is currently working on episode four of its first season of Game of Thrones, episode three of season one of Tales from the Borderlands, Minecraft: Story Mode, and an unannounced original IP.

On top of that, the studio recently signed a partnership with Lionsgate to work on transmedia "super shows”, and is working with Marvel on a game that’s expected to release in 2017.
