Sports broadcaster Colin Cowherd says he'll retire from ESPN before he has to cover an eSports tournament.

Cowherd's comments were made in the wake of the Heroes of the Dorm competition, in which colleges competed against one another in Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm for the chance to win fully-paid tuition for the winning team.

“Here’s what’s going to get me off the air: if I am ever forced to cover guys playing videogames, I will retire and move to a rural fishing village and sell bait,” Cowherd said on his radio show The Herd with Colin Cowherd.

“You want me out? Demand video game tournaments on ESPN because that’s what appeared on ESPN2 yesterday. I tolerated Donkey Kong. That was the equivalent of me putting a gun in my mouth and having to listen to that.”

In addition to taking a late interest in eSports, EPSN also covers nontraditional sports such as poker.
