Batman: Arkham Knight for PC will not be available in bricks-and-mortar stores in the UK, claims retailer ShopTo.
The retailer was told by its buyer that the game will only be released on digital storefronts for PC.
Warner Bros. has confirmed to Gameplanet that a physical edition of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC will be available in Australia and New Zealand, so this appears to be a decision limited to specific regions or markets.
Yesterday, Batman: Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady announced that the game would be delayed another three weeks.
The next entry in the Arkham series was scheduled for June 2. It will now be released on June 23.
The game is in development at Rocksteady, and has been described as the "explosive finale in the Batman: Arkham series". Scarecrow has returned to unite Gotham's vilest villains. Other evil-doers in the game include Harley Quinn, Two-Face, and Penguin. More will be announced in the future.
The game features an entirely new part of Gotham City, which will be much larger than area depicted in Arkham City. The streets will also be wider in order to accommodate the Batmobile.
Updated 2:40pm: This story was revised with clarification from Warner Bros. that this situation does not affect Australia or New Zealand.
