The release of Planescape successor Torment: Tides of Numenera has been pushed from early- to late-2015.

Project lead Kevin Saunders said that the project has been delayed until the fourth quarter of next year because InXile is busy refining Wasteland 2.

Wasteland 2’s success in Early Access allowed us to spend more time improving it, which also meant we had more time in preproduction on Torment,” Saunders wrote in an update for the game’s backers.

“We’ve had more time to prototype, improve tools, iterate on our processes, etc. before entering full production. This has been a great thing for everything... except for our release date."

Wasteland 2 is due out in August, after which many of its development team will switch to Torment, said Saunders.

In early 2013, Torment: Tides of Numenera broke the record for most-funded game on Kickstarter, becoming the first title to cross the four million dollar mark in the process.
