Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is coming to PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and 3DS on June 25, Activision has confirmed.

Although the game is a direct sequel to 2012’s Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, High Moon Studios will not be involved.

Instead, Rise of the Dark Spark is in development at Texas-based developer Edge of Reality, the studio that ported Dragon Age and Mass Effect to the PlayStation 3, and most recently released free-to-play FPS Loadout.

WayForward Technologies (Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don’t Know!) is in charge of the 3DS version, which will be a tactical RPG rather than a third-person shooter.

Rise of the Dark Spark will unite the universe of the Transformers films directed by Michael Bay with the Cybertron universe as seen in two of High Moon’s three previous Transformers games.

It will feature more than 40 playable characters.
