BioWare is releasing high-resolution character designs for Dragon Age: Inquisition ahead of the game, so fans have something to work with when creating cosplay or art for the title.

Community manager Jessica Merizan announced the initiative via the BioWare Blog, and revealed the first design: Morrigan in a ball gown.

The initiative is “a project of passion for quite a few departments within BioWare”, said Merizan.

"We want to give fan artists, cosplayers, illustrators, painters, writers, cake decorators, everyone access to detailed, descriptive, high resolution character designs before the game is released," she said.

"These will be distributed so you can have them available online or print them out and keep in your garage, workshop, sewing room or creative space to reference."

Dragon Age: Inquisition is expected to launch in the third quarter of this year for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
