Digital Nationz has announced it will hold a League of Legends LAN tournament at the expo this September.
With up to 200 players, it will be New Zealand's largest tournament for League of Legends, event organisers claim.
The tournament will run over the two days of the expo, with the finals played on the main stage on Sunday afternoon.
Announced yesterday, Digital Nationz is a new digital entertainment expo to be held at Auckland's Vector Arena on the 28th and 29th of September.
Organisers are advising players and teams interested in competing in the tournament to secure an individual ticket for the LAN early. A seat selection and user management portal will be made available in the near future to allow participants to organise their team.
Digital Nationz is also considering other possible LAN games for the event. Players interested in competing in another specific game, "like StarCraft II for example", can let the organisers know on Facebook or Twitter.
The LAN passes currently available are only for the League of Legends tournament, but event organiser Peter Hall has confirmed to Gameplanet that people who purchase a general admittance ticket will be able to upgrade to a LAN pass for any other games that may be announced in the future.
Tickets to Digital Nationz went on sale this morning.
