A proposed Leisure Suit Larry reboot is the latest game seeking to capitalise the Kickstarter phenomenon.

Entitled “Make Leisure Suit Larry come again!” the Kickstarter initiative promises to reunite the original core creative team, including Al Lowe.

“So why are we jumping on the Kickstarter Bandwagon with Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards?” asks the team. “It’s simple. We love Larry…Larry Laffer. We were there when he was born, in 1987. We were there for his last adventure, Love For Sail, almost exactly 10 years later.”

Replay Games wishes to create a reboot with a modern interface, “ultra high-res” graphics, fully voiced characters, and more of Al Lowe’s humour.

The team seeks US$500,000. The project has currently sourced $45,302 from 1,051 backers.

Should the game exceed its target, it will come to additional platforms such as XBLA, PSN, Android, iPads, iPhones, Windows Phones, Kindle, and “of course”, Mac.

Those who make the minimum pledge of US$15 will receive a digital copy of the game: “It’s the same way you probably get ALL your games…only this time, it’s legal!”

As ever, there’s a video designed to titillate prospective pledgers:
