Blizzard Entertainment has announced a new global pro-gaming event to be held in Asia towards the end of 2012.
The Battle.net World Championship will host this year’s StarCraft II and World of Warcraft Arena World Championship tournaments. Blizzard gamers and eSports fans from around the world will be invited to attend and witness professional players battle it out for cash and glory.
In light of what Blizzard has described as a "jam-packed schedule", the next BlizzCon will take place at some stage in 2013. The California-based developers are currently working on Diablo III, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm and a next-generation MMO referred to internally as "Titan".
Blizzard will release more specifics surrounding the Battle.Net World Championship in the months ahead.
