Amidst the annual news famine in the run-up to E3, CinemaBlend has discovered a BioWare job listing that suggests Mass Effect 3 is to include multiplayer functionality.

The LinkedIn profile for senior EA recruiter Jeff Goldstein said the developer’s Montreal studio is seeking a “Multiplayer Programmer (Mass Effect).”

The post has since been removed.

The listing corroborates BioWare head Ray Muzyka’s statements late last year when he said in an interview with Videogamer that the developer is considering online co-op for both the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series.

“Sure, we would consider it. We haven’t announced anything on that front yet, but those are interesting ideas. They could make a great gameplay experience. Whether we’ll do them or not remains to be decided.

“We’ve done it, and we’re doing it again now in Star Wars: The Old Republic.”
