Gameplanet has learned that A.I.D. (All Interactive Distribution) may be making a bid to set up shop in New Zealand.

The Australian distribution company has met with New Zealand retail outlets this week on an introductory basis, with the view to offer a wide range of titles from various publishers.

Further investigation reveals the domain name (registered on the 12th June) points to their Australian website;

A.I.D. has a large distribution centre on the Gold Coast, and specializes in the range management of games and DVDs. Following the demise of SPI a few weeks back, they are temporarily handling Activision and Nintendo in New Zealand, so it would seem likely they will make a bid for the permanent distribution rights for both these licenses.

We can only speculate as to the number of bidders on the scene looking to grab Activision and Nintendo however, so watch this space!
