Sony today unveiled the complete list of vehicles and tracks to appear in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (for NZ, Australia and Europe), along with some new screenshots (below). The game is due for release 28th March exclusively on PlayStation 3.
GT5 Prologue is a preview of Gran Turismo 5, showcasing the automotive experience that will be available in the final game--which could be up to a year away.
For New Zealand, Australia and Europe, the game will have additional features including Drift Mode, in-depth car tuning options, two-player split-screen racing and new online racing events.
Headlining the roster of over 70 vehicles in GT5 Prologue are the Ferrari 599, Nissan GT-R and the Audi R8. Players will be able to race these cars and many more around six meticulously rendered tracks, including Daytona International Speedway, Suzuka Circuit and that old GT favourite, High Speed Ring. Each track will have two layouts to choose from.
GT5 Prologue will be the first title in the Gran Turismo series to offer online multiplayer, enabling races with up to 16 drivers. It will also feature an all-new physics engine and improved opponent AI.
At $69.95 the game's a bargain - though of course, you'll have to stump up for a PlayStation 3 first, if you haven't already. The Gran Turismo franchise has always been a driver for PlayStation console sales with each iteration, and Sony is handily offering a Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Console Bundle (with the game and a PS3 console) to capitalise on this.
