Microsoft has been working hard to get the word out today on the Xbox 360 as the company celebrates the console's first birthday.

Gifts went out to friends of Xbox in the form of the vibrating wireless Xbox 360 controller - along with a reminder of its rumble functionality. Although not the only new-generation platform with rumble technology as claimed, Microsoft was also reminiscing about the last 16 months globally since the console's launch.

Dominion Breweries also sent out $480 worth of Export Gold to Gameplanet Store to emphasise the price difference between the newly launched PlayStation 3, while the Gears of War console pack is now available for $770.
