In preparation of the early 2007 release of Myst Online: Uru Live, two major developments are being announced. Currently in beta release, a new area of the city and an all-new, never-before-seen age are being released in the next 24 hours.
Distributor GameTap has also announced that a Macintosh version of the game is in development by TransGaming Inc., which will bring the world of Uru to Apple Macintosh users for the first time. Uru Live is designed to continually expand in order to provide new game experiences and areas of exploration for its players.
Uru Live for Macintosh is powered by TransGaming’s Cider portability engine. “The original Myst game premiered on the Mac,” says Rand Miller, CEO of developer Cyan Worlds and creator of Myst Online. “The Mac community has always been huge supporters of the Myst franchise and we’re thrilled that we will soon be able to invite them to the newest Myst experience.”
Players interested in participating in the Mac beta programme should visit gametap.com/mystonline for sign-up information.
