Following a countdown clock teaser, Ghost Games has revealed Need for Speed Heat, the next entry in veteran racing series.

Ghost Games released a trailer Heat today, showcasing the series continued focus on high-performance street racing and avoiding the long arm of the law. In Heat players will race across the fictional town of Palm City and take part in both sanctioned competitions called the Speedhunters Showdown and illegal underground racing.

It wouldn't be a modern NFS game without some B-grade movie story about police corruption, and Ghost Games look to be doubling down on the drama for the next entry.

Fan reception of the last entry in the series wasn't great and it appears that Ghost Games have listened. In a press release, Creative Director, Riley Cooper stated "Our fans have been clear that they want more cars, more customization, and more challenges, and we're tuning up on every aspect. From your character's style to your car's performance and your driving style, we're fuelling everyone's creativity with this new game."

Need for Speed Heat is slated to release November 5 on Origin Access Premier/Play First Trial with the remaining platforms following on November 8.
