CD Projekt Red has revealed the first expansion to their successful offshoot card game, Gwent set in The Witcher universe.
The new expansion, titled Crimson Curse, will see the return of a familiar face for anyone who played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunts Blood and Wine expansion. Dettlaff van der Eretein, The Beast of Beauclair is back once again and is summoning an army of new monsters and villains for players to contend with.
The Gwent website features a brief set up for the story, with CD Projekt stating, "The Blood Moon is rising. This is a time of the Crimson Curse, a time of madness and despair. A dark ritual performed by a mighty higher vampire Dettlaff turns the moon blood red, corrupting the land and its inhabitants. No one is safe and there’s nowhere to run — new breeds of monsters are awaking from their slumber, thirsting for blood. Will you join Dettlaff in his quest for revenge and destruction or choose to fight back and protect the innocents?"
The upcoming expansion will feature over 100 new cards, including 31 neutral cards and 14 faction cards for each faction. The Gwent website already features a look at a few of the new cards. We won't have to wait long to see the rest, as the Crimson Curse expansion releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 28.

CD Projekt Red is undoubtedly hard at work at the moment with Gwent and the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077, which that developers have confirmed will be making an appearance at E3 this year.
