Sony just announced another milestone for its home console, with PlayStation 4 sales passing the 90 million mark.
“Thanks to the continued support from our fans during the holiday season, we are pleased to announce that PS4 has reached 91.6 million units globally," said SIE president and CEO John Kodera.
"We are also happy to announce that the monthly active users of PlayStation Network continues to show strong growth, and has surpassed 90 million as of end of November 2018."
If that wasn't enough, more than 50.7 million PS4 titles were sold during the holiday season.
Meanwhile, the latest figures also indicate that Marvel's Spider-Man, developed by Insomniac Games, has sold more than nine million copies.
The latest sales figures put the PlayStation 4 in fourth place for all-time home console sales, behind the Nintendo Wii with 101 million units.
The PS4 has already outsold its predecessor, which has sold approximately 83 million. While it's unlikely the console will reach the number one spot currently held by the PlayStation 2 [at a whopping 155 million] it's always nice to see these kinds of milestones.
And with the success of Marvel's Spider-Man, it's a pretty safe bet that we'll be seeing a sequel in the future.
