The adventure RPG Outward has a confirmed release date of March 26 next year.
Coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, the open-world fantasy adventure will support both local and online multiplayer, as well as split-screen co-op.
Nine Dots Studio is developing the game with an increased difficulty curve in the hopes of a greater sense of achievement, while also grounding the fantasy world in a bit more realism. It's a choice they say is in response to many other titles in the genre "giving the player freebies all of the time."
In addition to difficult foes and perilous beasts, Outward players will also square off against a number of survival mechanics like hunger and exposure to the elements.
There's also an unforgiving auto-save feature designed to force players to "live with their decisions."
