Square Enix has confirmed that Kingdom Hearts III has gone gold.

The news comes from director Tetsuya Nomura, who took to twitter to share the latest trailer for the game.

"I'm proud to unveil an extended version of the trailer that's been playing in NA cinemas. And guess what? We've wrapped up development of Kingdom Hearts 3!"

Nomura added "If you haven't had the chance yet, now would be a good time to prep by playing 1.5+2.5 & 2.8. See you next month!"

Kingdom Hearts II released back in 2005, leaving fans with a 14 year gap between direct sequels. That gap has been punctuated with the aforementioned 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8 in 2013, 2014, and 2017 respectively.

Kingdom Hearts III will release on January 29 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
