CD Projekt Red has today announced a long-term partnership with Digital Scapes for work on its upcoming sci-fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077.

"Cyberpunk 2077 is our most ambitious project to date and we work hard every day to make it a creative and technological achievement," said CD Projekt Red SVP Michal Nowakowski. "The Digital Scapes team brings aboard a lot of talent, experience and technical knowledge, and I’m very confident our long-term cooperation will add plenty to the game."

The Vancouver-based Digital Scapes was founded by veterans of BioWare, Radical Entertainment and Relic, and has a history of credits that include Company of Heroes, Warhammer 40,000, Dying Light, and Prototype.

CD Projekt Red has confirmed the Canadian studio will create and optimise "technological solutions" for Cyberpunk. While that may sound a little ambiguous, Digital Scapes in the past has specialised in anything from multiplayer design and asset production, to dev tool creation and cloud computing. So your guess is as good as mine.

Best known for its work on The Witcher series, CD Projekt Red has remained tight-lipped about Cyberpunk for quite some time, only recently sharing an epic walkthrough of the futuristic world.

If that's any indication of what the studio has cooking, any additional work from a studio like Digital Scapes will culminate in quite the RPG.

While a release date for the sci-fi RPG is yet to be confirmed, you can pre-order Cyberpunk 2077 now at Mighty Ape.
