Devil May Cry 5 was hands-down one of my favourite announcements at E3 this year. Capcom announced the game with an ultra slick trailer that had many a fan's jaw firmly on the floor.

In a recent interview with Dengeki Online (translated by Resetera), the games director Hideaki Itsuno, had some interesting little tidbits of info for fans.

The narrative is set to focus predominantly on Nero. Fear not however as Itsuno also stated that Dante and newcomer V will play big roles too. According to Itsuno, the new character shown in the key art is "definitely an important character. After Nero and Dante, he's the third playable character. There's a point to him seemingly not having any weapons. Keep it in mind, because if you do, there will be a moment in the full game where you go that's what I thought!".

Itsuno even said that the team have a reason behind Dante now sporting a beard, it's not just because he's older. It's certainly a silly little detail, but a Devil May Cry game without these type of things just wouldn't be the same.

Devil May Cry 5 director thinks players may cry too

He goes on to say that he hopes the story in Devil May Cry 5 will make players cry. While that's a tall order as we're mostly desensitized digital murderers at this point, it's nice to see the series potentially mature a bit with the fan base. We're not little thirteen year old edge lords anymore.

It was also recently announced that the game is aiming for photo realistic quality and a solid 60 FPS. The game will be running on the same engine as the incredible looking Resident Evil 2 Remake , so it's safe to assume we can expect it to be one of the best looking action games on the current generation of consoles.

We'll have to wait patiently for Devil May Cry 5 to release next year to get all of the answers. I personally can't wait to see what Capcom has in store for us.
