Blizzard recently announced plans to change player to player interaction in Overwatch. The plan was to encourage positive feedback for players and to encourage improved team social experiences.
Update 1.25 is now live and with it, come new endorsement options, providing the ability for players at the end of a match to recognise their teammates for exceptional teamwork, sportsmanship or shot calling. Players also have the option to endorse opponents for great sportsmanship too. Endorsing players will earn you bonus XP, and the more endorsements you rack up from other players, the higher your Endorsement Level will rise, up to 5. Scaling rewards based on this level can be claimed periodically.
On top of these changes, Symmetra has undergone a massive overhaul, now falling into the new Damage role and receiving a brand new primary attack, secondary attack, two new abilities, and a new ultimate ability. This change should make Symmetra a much more viable option across more areas of the game.
Blizzard has teased more new Overwatch content coming but as always, we're still left guessing what it might be.
Overwatch patch 1.25 is live right now across all platforms.
