Shenmue III has been delayed a second time.

Following a record-breaking crowdfunding campaign, the action adventure sequel was pencilled in for a 2017 release, before being pushed into the second half of this year.

It will now release sometime in 2019 for PC and PlayStation 4.

”The extra time will be used to polish the quality of the game even further, to the high standards it deserves and release the product in the best possible timeframe,” said publisher Deep Silver.

Game director Yu Suzuki added, "After much discussion with our partners, Deep Silver, we have concluded that extending the release will allow us to deliver Shenmue III at its best. We promise to use this time to improve the quality of Shenmue III."

The first footage of the game surfaced last August, and features a hilariously expressionless Ryo Hazuki:
