Sony has updated Sharefactory, the PS4's video editing and sharing app, with several new features including the ability to manipulate video speed.

The Time Bender feature, which Sony says has been one of players' most requested features, allows video editors to slow down time in their videos or to create timelapse footage.

Additionally, clip limits have been lifted, with timelines now accepting up to 50 video clips and 12 music clips.

Text and stickers can now be layered on top of video, and the update brings new music tracks, filter effects, and transitions.

According to Sony, Sharefactory has been downloaded 5.1 million times, with "more than 18.9 million awesome projects" created by users.

That number should increase with the upcoming Sharefactory Events video creation programme, to be held by developers and publishers, the first of which is in the planning stages now.

Sharefactory can be downloaded for free from the PlayStation Store.
