After rumour and speculation, and later confirmation via classic Star Wars games, fan-favourite PS2 games have started to release on PS4 via emulation.
Eight games were announced for release at the PlayStation Experience on the weekend, and they won't be the last.
The eight games in question, available now via download on the PlayStation Store, are Dark Cloud; Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas; Rogue Galaxy; The Mark of Kri; War of the Monsters; and Twisted Metal: Black.
The PS4's PlayStation 2 emulator runs games at up-rendered 1080p, and grants them features like Remote Play, activity feeds, sharing, and trophies.
Sony says it will "be working tirelessly to bring you your favorite PS2 games with new releases on a regular basis."
A potential future title could include the original Max Payne, which just received a PS4 rating of M on the ESRB website.
The PlayStation 2 remains the biggest-selling console of all time, with one of the largest and most diverse game libraries.
