The Microsoft HoloLens augmented reality headset is capable of streaming Xbox One gameplay to a virtual screen, a new video shows.
Posted by HoloLens program manager Varun Mani, the clip shows Mani playing Halo 5: Guardians on a virtual, wall-mounted display opposite his actual TV.
Virtual screens are a strong potential use for the augmented-reality headset, as most games will still not be designed specifically for the platform.
Such a feature would also enable the use of larger "screens" than the physical world allowed, though it could be hampered by the HoloLens' narrowish field of view.
Microsoft has let the lid off HoloLens somewhat lately, encouraging developers to publish demo videos on Twitter.
It has also opened itself up to suggestions, asking for ideas around potential HoloLens applications – with the best idea set to receive a development team of its own at Microsoft.
