Australia's first queer gaming expo has been successfully funded on Kickstarter.
GX Australia scored $55,624 AUD (of a $50,000 target), with 478 backers pledging to help make the event happen.
The convention will mark the first foray of the successful GaymerX event outside of North America.
Its organisers say the event "seeks to create an inclusive, safe space for everyone with a passion for gaming and geek culture."
"Its mission is to celebrate the diversity already present in the community while encouraging developers and publishers to continue improving on issues of representation, community safety, and anti-bullying initiatives."
Special guests speaking at GX include Obsidian cofounder Chris Avellone; Fallout creator Tim Cain; Mass Effect: Andromeda senior designer Manveer Heir; Little Witch Story creator Snow McNally; founder of the Medic! charity Eve Beauregard; and "Drag Queen of Video Games" Kitty Powers.
GX Australia will be held at Sydney's Australian Technology Park from February 27-28.
