Activision Blizzard has launched a film and TV studio, the first production of which will be an animated TV show set in the Skylanders universe.
That show is Skylanders Academy, and according to US News it will feature the voices of Justin Long, Ashley Tisdale, and Jonathan Banks.
A near-term project for the studio will be a Call of Duty movie, and Activision said it is considering adapting the franchise for TV as well.
"Our releases will be consistent with the high adrenaline, bad-ass action that fans expect from this franchise, but we're going to deliver this intellectual property to the broadest movie-going audience," Activision Blizzard Studios co-president Nick van Dyk told US News.
"This will be tent-pole action-adventure of the widest appeal."
The Warcraft franchise is already being made into a film through a partnership between its Blizzard Entertainment unit and Legendary Pictures. It is slated for a 2016 release.
This is far from the first time a games studio has expanded into the film and television space. Ubisoft established a film and TV division in 2011 that created Nickelodeon series Rabbids Invasion and is working on an Assassin's Creed film starring Michael Fassbender.
Microsoft also gave it a shot, with Xbox Entertainment Studios most notably creating Halo Nightfall and Atari: Game Over. However, the studio was closed last year.
