Alan Wake 2 will get made eventually, Remedy Entertainment says.

In an entertaining rapid-fire video interview with Game Informer, Remedy co-founder and creative director Sam Lake replied in the affirmative when asked if players would ever get their hands on the game.

Lake also said his favourite game was Half-Life 2, that he doesn’t know how to change batteries in a torch without turning it off, and that he is looking forward to Fallout 4.

In 2010, Remedy’s Oskari Hakkinen revealed that Alan Wake 2 had already been written, but that its chances of being made hinged on how well the first game did.

The first game, released that same year, sold 4.5 million copies across Xbox 360 and Windows PC.

Earlier this year, Lake told Polygon that when it became clear Alan Wake 2 wasn’t happening anytime soon, Remedy used some concepts from it in 2012's Alan Wake: American Nightmare, a stand-alone story set in the Alan Wake universe.

He also gave the site a 14-minute video prototype of the proposed sequel.

"There are no spoilers in it. That being said, I do hope we get an opportunity to work on Alan Wake 2. I want to do more Wake at some point," he said.

Remedy is currently working on Quantum Break, a third-person action title releasing exclusively on Xbox One.
